Elevate Guest Experiences: LG Hospitality TVs with Built-In Google Cast Are Here

In 2025, hotel in-room entertainment is taking a significant step forward. LG’s newest line of hospitality-grade TVs, beginning with the UM670 in Q1, will include built-in Google Cast, letting guests easily stream their favorite movies, shows, music, and photos from their personal devices directly to their hotel in-room TV screen. With 5,000+ Google Cast-enabled apps – including Disney+, Spotify, Max, and more – you can get an uninterrupted entertainment experience. Later in the year, the STB 6500 and 7500 set-top boxes will also introduce this functionality. With these new products, properties gain multiple options for ensuring a seamless entertainment experience.

How It Works

With LG’s built-in Google Cast technology, connecting a device to the TV is as simple as scanning a QR code displayed on the TV screen. This quick and straightforward process allows guests to stream videos, music, or other content from their personal devices.

The system offers added convenience by supporting both mobile device controls and the TV remote. The traditional remote control allows for control of all TV functions, while guests can use their own mobile devices for essential functions like play, pause, track selection, and volume. This dual control ensures a familiar and user-friendly experience for guests. Importantly, all connections are reset automatically at checkout, maintaining privacy and security for every guest.

What This Means for Hotels

The new LG TVs redefine what modern in-room entertainment can be. Guests gain the freedom to enjoy personalized content, from their favorite shows and playlists to personal videos, just as they would at home. This added convenience enhances the guest experience and leaves a lasting impression.

For hotels, the benefits go beyond guest satisfaction. Built-in casting eliminates the need for additional external devices, reducing equipment costs and simplifying IT management. It also aligns with industry trends toward minimalistic, clean in-room setups that balance aesthetics and functionality.
